SMM maritime fair highlights

The first week of September we attended the SMM maritime Trade Fair in Hamburg. The SMM is the largest maritime fair in Europe and at Tempress we have a long tradition of participating as part of the Pavilion of Denmark. This year was no exception, and on Tuesday the 3rd of September, the fair opened its doors to the bi-annual fair.

We had the pleasure of welcoming many people to our booth in the Danish Pavilion of which some already knew us and others were just curious about our products. It was exhilarating to see so many stop by our booth for a chat, a cup of coffee, or specific inquiries.

During the week we were able to attend and listen to interesting panel discussions and talks to understand some of the challenges the industry is currently facing in terms of sustainability, local and international regulations and the transition to greener fuels like methanol. There is no doubt that the entire industy is in an interesting transitioning process in which the overarching theme is to ensure  a future-proof world of shipping.

As a supplier to a variety of industries, being able to dive into the specifics of one particular industry at an event as the SMM offers valuable insight and understanding of the needs of our customers in the maritime industry. As we return with new knowledge and inspiration, we hope to expand our trade fair activities in the future, both in the marine industry, but hopefully also in a wider range of fields where our instruments are needed.
