Application

The contact system type KN can be used for alarm functions or simple actuating controls. The contact is simply set at the customer defined value where the contact function is required.

With a few exceptions TEMPRESS’ dry pressure gauges and thermometers can be delivered with one, two or three built-in contacts type KN.

The contact is made without a blank-holder magnet to avoid contact hysteresis and obtain optimum contact function. The optimum contact function also depends on power, load and contact material.

The contact pins are standard in silver (KNS) but can also be supplied in gold (KNG) – e.g. for low voltages such as 24VDC.

Contact type KN is well-suited where the processing value changes quickly. This type should not be used in processes with vibrations or transients as these will cause undesired contact operations.

Application

The contact system type KM is especially well suited for processes with vibrations or transients as, due to the magnet, these will not cause undesired contact operations.

It can be used for all purposes where an electric impulse is required at a desired value. The impulse is applicable for alarm functions or simple actuating controls.

With a few exceptions, TEMPRESS’ pressure gauges and thermometers can be delivered with one, two or three built-in contacts type KM.

The contact is made without a blank-holder magnet to secure a reliable and optimal contact function which also depends on power, load and contact material.

Application

Contact type KE is well-suited for all applications in processes where vibrations or transients occur as, due to the electronic tracker, these will not cause undesired contact operations. An electronic contact secures a long lifetime in places where often repeated contact operations occur.

The contact system type KE is applicable for all purposes where an electric impulse is wanted at a desired value. The impulse is applicable for alarm functions or simple actuating controls like e.g. a EDP-system, PC-control or a PLC with very low load.

With a few exceptions, TEMPRESS’ pres-sure gauges and thermometers can be delivered with one or two built-in contacts type KE.

The contact is made with a built-in electronic tracker and electronics which secure a reliable and optimal contact function at very low loads, e.g. few mA which is normal in various actuating systems.

Contact type KE does not require an external amplifier relay.

Application

The inductive contact type functions via a proximity type of switching, i.e. without mechanical contact.

Due to the proximity type of switching, the switching accuracy and the high service life, inductive contacts may be used for almost all industrial applications, and should be given special preference for areas under a risk of an occasional explosive atmosphere.

If suitable isolating amplifiers are used, the operating material complies with the “i” type of protection, i.e. intrinsically safe which is classified under EEx ib II C T6 and permitted in areas which are under risk of explosion.

Inductive contacts always require the use of a relay or similar.
